MBEA Trust established

Mercedes-Benz Education Academy (MBEA) Trust established in order to set up a non-for-profit international school

1998
MBIS opened at Telco Colony

Mercedes-Benz International School (MBIS) opened at Telco Colony, Pimpri with 16 students and 5 nationalities

1999
IB PYP and MYP Authorization
  • International Baccalaureate PYP and MYP Authorization
  • Second location established in Bhosle Nagar for Lower School.
2003
Opened purpose built campus in Hinjewadi
  • Opened purpose built campus in Hinjewadi with an enrollment of 84 students
  • Establishment of a Boarding Unit at Nandanvan Society
  • 2nd IB Evaluation of PYP and MYP
2005
Accreditation by the CIS
  • Construction of Multi-Purpose Hall and Changing Rooms
  • Accreditation by the Council of International Schools (Pre K – MYP5)
2006
IB Diploma Authorization
  • Construction of the “Diploma Block”
  • IB Diploma Authorization
2007
Evaluation of PYP and MYP
  • Completion of Boarding House on Campus
  • 3rd IB Evaluation of PYP and MYP

Accreditation by NEAS&C
  • Accreditation by New England Association of Schools and Colleges (PreK – MYP5)
  • Enrollment reaches 275
2010
3-Agency Accreditation
  • First synchronized 3-Agency Accreditation – CIS – NEASC – IB
  • The only school in India to be accredited by these three associations.
2013
MBIS’ 15th Anniversary
  • MBIS’ 15th Anniversary.
  • International School Activities Conference-India (ISACI) established.
  • Enrollment at 294 students.
2015
Launch of Technology Strategy

MBIS strives to develop a community of digital lifelong learners who aspire to make a difference in the not-yet-known-world.

Launch of 5-year facilities master plan development and renovation.

Change of school name

Change of school name to Mahindra International School with the addition of 5 new board members from KC Mahindra Educational Trust (KMET).
