Welcome to Mahindra International School

Founded in 1998, originally under the name Mercedes-Benz International School, MIS is a well-established, non-profit school serving Pune’s expatriates, repatriating Indian families and also globally minded Indian families who wish to offer an international education to their children.

Currently, more than 30 nationalities are represented within a student body of about 380 students. Our diverse community shares a common “Statement of Purpose – We inspire learning, foster responsibility and celebrate diversity”. We are proud of the reputation our school has earned over the past 25 years and we are looking forward to the next phase of the school’s history.

In 2019, the Board of Trustees underwent a change in Managing Committee membership with the addition of 5 new Board Members from the KC Mahindra Educational Trust and a corresponding change in the name to Mahindra International School.

Mahindra International School is a not-for-profit school as established under the Public Charitable Trust Act. The school is an independent entity and is not part of a group of schools.

The school’s Mission Statement and Vision will continues to underpin the ethos of the school and strategic decision making. The school’s strategic plan drives continuous improvement, supported by the 5-year Accreditation and Evaluation review by the Council of International Schools, New England Association of Schools and Colleges and by the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Fundamental to the school’s ethos is our commitment to the curriculum framework of the International Baccalaureate. We are proud to be the longest-standing 3-Programme IB School in India. This is core to what we believe about education the best possible learning environment.

Our teaching faculty and administrators are amongst the finest in the world, sought after by the very top international and independent schools. We recruit globally and locally to support our goal of high-quality, individualized instruction for all learners. MIS’s faculty are innovative and growth-oriented using best practices in our state-of-the-art learning spaces. Our community of learners, including our faculty, are equipped to be 21st-century global citizens with a passion for life-long learning.

Currently, the school is authorised to offer all the IB programmes – Primary Years, Middle Years and the Diploma programme. MIS is also accredited by the Council of International School’s and the New England Association of School’s and Colleges.

The curriculum is structured in a way that enables students to become independent, well-balanced, active and caring members of society.

MIS offers a global and comprehensive programme that instills students with skills necessary for good, life-long work habits.

Social organization and culture	The study of people, communities, cultures and societies in the ways in which individuals, groups and societies interact with each other.
Continuity and change through time	The study of the relationships between people and events through time; the past, its influences on the present and its implications for the future; people who have shaped the future through their actions.
Human and natural environments	The study of the distinctive features that give a place its identity; how people adapt to and alter their environment; how people experience and represent place; the impact of natural disasters on people and the built environment.
Resources and the environment	The interaction between people and the environment; the study of how humans allocate and manage resources; the positive and negative effects of this management; the impact of scientific and technological developments on the environment.

Living things	The study of the characteristics, systems and behaviours of humans and other animals, and of plants; the interactions and relationships between and among them, and with their environment.
Earth and space	The study of planet Earth and its position in the universe, particularly its relationship with the sun; the natural phenomena and systems that shape the planet and the distinctive features that identify it; the infinite and finite resources of the planet.
Materials and matter	The study of the properties, behaviours and uses of materials, both natural and human-made; the origins of human-made materials and how they are manipulated to suit a purpose.
