Breast Cancer Campaign Success!

It has been two weeks since we launched our fundraising campaign for breast cancer in collaboration with Doctor Pranjali Gadgil and the I-Share Foundation. We are excited to share that the campaign has been an incredible success!

Over the course of the campaign, we handed out ribbons, collected donations, and saw our community dotted with the bright pink of the t-shirts we wore in support of the cause. The campaign culminated in an event on our field where brave teacher-volunteers allowed students to chop off inches of their hair in support of the cause. Finally, to the overwhelming support of everyone on campus, our very own Ms. Jodi—who characteristically dyed her hair a vibrant pink for the week prior—allowed our top donors to help cut her hair before finally shaving it all off!

Our original fundraising goal was set at 30,000 rupees within the week-and-a-half we planned to spend collecting donations. We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we far surpassed our original goal with a grand total of 2,21,850 rupees! We are so incredibly proud of our community having come together in solidarity, and we’d like to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone who made a donation, no matter the amount. We will be handing the donations to Doctor Pranjali next week, to be put towards a rural breast health and cancer screening initiative headed by the I-Share foundation. Be sure to keep an eye out for more photos in coming weeks!
