The most awaited trip of the year finally arrived! Excitement filled the air as our P2 inquirers gathered in the school, ready for their adventure to the historic Bedse Caves. At exactly 8:30 AM, the buses rolled out, buzzing with chatter and laughter. The journey began with delicious snacks on the bus, fueling the little explorers for the day ahead.

As we arrived at the base of the Bedse Caves, the sight of the towering steps leading to the caves added to the thrill. With determination and enthusiasm, our risk-takers climbed the 400 steps, pausing to admire the lush surroundings and catch their breath. The sense of accomplishment upon reaching the top was truly rewarding!

Inside the caves, we were greeted by the breathtaking sight of ancient carvings, a magnificent stupa, and a meditation room that whispered tales of the past. The rock beds and water bodies within the cave gave our inquirers a glimpse into the lives of the monks who once inhabited this serene space. One of the most thrilling moments of the trip was spotting a spotted gecko camouflaged against the rocks! The pleasantly cool indoor temperature provided a refreshing contrast to the warmth outside. All these experiences seamlessly align with our learning principle: experiential.
After an enriching exploration, our young adventurers finally reflected on their journey by writing and illustrating their experiences. Through sketches and words, they captured the essence of the day, making their learning even more meaningful.

After our enriching exploration, it was time to head back—but not without a well-deserved treat! On the way back to school, we made a stop at McDonald’s, where our explorers relished their meals with wide smiles and joyful conversations.
During the trip, they practiced self-management skills by staying focused during instructions and reflections, demonstrating responsibility throughout the trip. Their social skills were evident as they worked collaboratively and supported their peers during the journey.

The trip to Bedse Caves was not just about exploring history but also about experiencing the joy of discovery, teamwork, and mindfulness. It was indeed a day to cherish!
Take a look at what our learners had to say after the trip:
Michal: “I learned that the cave was built in one rock in 20 years”
Samaa: “I learned about Buddha, monks and caves”
Aahil Baid: “Monks used the caves for mindfulness”
Nahla: “I learned that long time ago some people lived in the caves”
Mira: “I learned about the Stupa and largest gecko in India”
Samaira: “The caves were 2000 years old, Monks lived in the caves”
