Our PYP 5 students embarked on an enriching journey of scientific discovery during the transition lessons held in Science from May 22nd to May 24th.

“What we learn with pleasure, we never forget.” – Alfred Mercier

This is particularly the case in science lessons, where through hands-on activities and experiments, students delved into the major groups of nutrients, emphasizing the importance of a balanced diet containing carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals, water, and dietary fibers.

Beyond the textbook, students displayed their culinary prowess by cooking pasta, boiling eggs, and baking cookies, which they then used for food tests to confirm nutrient components in various foods, including fruit juice, oil, bread, tomato, and milk.

These hands-on experiences not only deepened their understanding of nutrition but also honed their scientific inquiry skills, preparing them for success in MYP Science and beyond; they also fostered communication, collaboration, and peer relationships. Culminating in a shared meal of their creations, these transition lessons provided students with a memorable and enriching experience as they prepare to embark on their journey into MYP 1.
