Building Strong Partnerships: PTA at MIS Begins the Year with Purpose

At Mahindra International School, we firmly believe that student success is best achieved when families and educators collaborate. A healthy home–school partnership provides students with the encouragement and support they need to thrive. This spirit of collaboration lies at the heart of our Parents Teachers Association (PTA). Every MIS parent is a member of the PTA, and we encourage all families to be active participants in the school’s life. There are numerous ways for parents to get involved, including volunteering for school events, joining committees that focus on specific initiatives, attending workshops and meetings, or even assisting in classroom activities. By participating actively, parents make a lasting impact on both the school community and their children’s educational journey.

The PTA is more than an organizational body; it is an essential part of our community. Parents who volunteer their time and energy help us create an environment where students feel supported and where teachers know their work is valued. From assisting with events to strengthening connections between families and the school, the PTA plays a vital role in nurturing the relationships that make MIS unique.

This year, we are especially fortunate to have a group of committed and enthusiastic PTA Office Bearers and Class Representatives. Their leadership and dedication are already helping us build meaningful partnerships across the school community.

Our first PTA meeting of the 2025–26 academic year reflected this commitment. Attendance was strong, and parents were able to hear updates on school initiatives, recent developments, and our strategic goals for the year ahead. The meeting also provided an opportunity for open dialogue and the sharing of ideas, reminding us that the strength of our school lies in the collective efforts of staff, students, and families. To ensure ongoing communication, updates about future meetings and initiatives will continue to be shared through email and our school website.

A highlight of the gathering was the announcement by the Office Bearers of a thoughtful gift for our teachers: a massage chair for the newly remodeled staff lounge. This generous gesture is a meaningful way to show appreciation for the tireless efforts of our educators. It also reflects the PTA’s understanding that when teachers are supported and cared for, our students ultimately benefit.

Looking ahead, the PTA is preparing for several major events that celebrate and strengthen our community spirit. On 22 November, the International Carnival will bring together over 600 participants in a joyful celebration of cultural diversity, where families can share food, traditions, and performances across generations. On 17 January, the PTA, together with our DP students, will host Support Staff Appreciation Day (“Bhai Behan Day”)—a heartfelt day of fun activities for our invaluable support staff and their families. Finally, on 21 April, Teacher Appreciation Day will see the PTA organize a beautifully decorated catered lunch to honor our teachers and staff.

With such meaningful initiatives ahead, the PTA is set to make this year both memorable and impactful. Together, we will continue to build a community where every student is supported, every teacher feels valued, and every family has a place at MIS.
