Honk! about to be hatched

Followi ng on from our little sneak preview of this year’s music production, “HONK!”, at Christmas, the MYP Music Department is happy to announce that things are progressing well in our preparations.

Our stage actors have been busy rehearsing the music. As you can see here (please login with an MBIS account to view), there are quite a few budding performers in our midst! This week has also seen a number of students being risk-takers and putting themselves forwards for auditions. By the end of the week, over twenty students will have auditioned for principal roles!

As part of our aim at MBIS to become self-sufficient in producing a musical, we are now looking at the other necessary aspects for a production. Students and teachers have been invited to be part of four teams: Performance, Design, Technical and Publicity; the four main pillars of producing a successful performance, and we hope that this real-world experience will allow them to learn and grow as individuals.

We would love for parents to get involved too! The most important thing you can do to help us is to make sure your child commits to everything they have signed up for. If you want to volunteer additional time or resources to the production, or you have a contact, simply let me know (victor.wong@mbis.org) and we will contact you. We are still in the process of compiling a list of everything that needs to be done, but don’t worry – when we have tasks we need help with, we will let you know!
