The first day of MISMUN 2024 started off with a motivating opening ceremony that consisted of a video speech by our school director, Mr Joel Cohen, followed by insights from our keynote speakers about the theme of education, first by the NGO directors of “With Love” followed by the founder of Junglebook, and lastly an inspiring speech from the Secretary-General. Delegate sessions kicked off with roll calls and introductions. Committees such as the Security Council and GA3 focused on fun and engaging icebreakers. Opening speeches showed off the delegates’ preparedness, and went on to fruitful discussions. The day concluded with excitement for the debates ahead.

On Day 2, the Security Council debated resolutions on Afghanistan, successfully passing a resolution after which a crisis struck, involving the kidnapping of the Indian delegate. The Youth Assembly approved both resolutions for their first agenda and engaged in rapid debates on a crisis situation given to them. GA3 submitted resolutions for review, with one passing and another failing due to a human trafficking crisis. ECOSOC delegates participated in dynamic debates, while UNEP passed resolutions on illegal logging and climate change, while also addressing a surprise crisis between Ecuador and Venezuela. Overall, the day was packed with collaboration and intense discussions.

MISMUN finally came to an end after three intense debate-packed days. In the Youth Assembly, both resolutions passed followed by an entertaining session filled with fun activities. GA3 delegates completed their resolutions and tackled a crisis involving human trafficking, demonstrating teamwork. The Security Council successfully passed a resolution on Afghanistan, while ECOSOC engaged in debates on income inequality. UNEP also passed resolutions addressing environmental issues, in a memorable conference filled with collaborative learning.  The closing ceremony featured speeches from the Head of Events and the Secondary School Principal Mr Oliver Chua, followed by an award ceremony recognizing the Best Delegates and honourable mentions.
