PYP 4 Field Trip To Varsoli

The PYP 4’s thoroughly enjoyed a memorable trip to Varsoli, located on the outskirts of Alibaug. The Varsoli beach is famous for its clean sand and water. The beach is also dotted with numerous coconut and casuarina trees which increase it scenic appeal. This venue suited the aims of this trip: the students experienced various learning engagements which helped them Explore, Reconnoiter and Discover.

The learning engagements focused on direct interactions with nature.

The accommodation was comfortable and was also located in a pleasant lush-green environment, near the seashore at Varsoli village. This again provided the students with a direct and tranquil link to nature.

The students thoroughly indulged themselves in a range of recreational but educational activities such as: team building games, beachcombing, building rafts, testing them in the swimming pool, taking walks through the resort exploring and making collections of something special.  In addition to this the PYP4 explored the grounds and discovered items to upcycle, to compose their own ‘stomp’ music, and later performed their creative works to an eager audience.

In addition to all that fun, the Pugmarks team organized traditional experts craftsmen from Nasik who taught the students the skills of “Basket Making and Warli Painting.”

The entire trip experience helped children forge stronger bonds amongst themselves, this led to them becoming more independent, reflective and confident in their approach towards new experiences. We left with many cherishable memories.

Below are  some excerpts from the students reflections:

“ I experienced a fun filled trip with all my friends and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities, especially the stomp and the delicious food served to us.”- Umayra PYP4

“ I enjoyed doing activities with my friends and exploring. I can’t wait for another fun filled trip like this with my friends again” – Prakruti PYP4
