Whole School Book Week 2019

“Let’s Imagine” theme of this year’s book week began with lots of enthusiasm and excitement.

“Why I Read…” – the whole school community wrote a short sentence with their views and feelings about reading. “I read for relaxation, to know new worlds, to learn new words, to get knowledge, to experience new adventure” are some of the comments to mark it.

Design a Book Cover was the Homeroom competition where students imagined a new book cover for their favorite book. MYP 1’s are very enthusiastic and busy making decisions on whether to design Harry Potter, Wimpy kid or Percy Jackson! The results will be out next week.

A master storyteller Dr Sherline Pimenta K, who is expert in story communication design conducted sessions with Grade 7 & 9. Maharashtra’s folk tales, culture, knowing the Marathi words, and food were the highlights of her session. The author draped a Paithani which is symbolic to Maharashtra’s culture and for student’s information.

The beauty of our school is the diverse community and languages. Our native language speaking parents from Spanish, Czeck, Japanese, Korean, Marathi, Hindi, English and Italian visited school to read stories to our students.

Book Fairs are always an attraction of our book week.

We would like to thank the whole school community for their support and participation, this is not possible without you.

Keep Reading & Enjoying!!
