The P1 learners have been inquiring into the unit ‘How we organize ourselves’, and to further explore the line of inquiry ‘Transformation of Raw Materials to Finished Products,’ they had the exciting opportunity to visit Gauri’s Thorough Breads.

Gauri, a talented home baker, specializes in crafting delicious sourdough and yeasted breads. On Friday, 22nd November, our learners visited her home to gain real-life insights into how raw materials are transformed into finished products.

During the visit, the learners were introduced to various raw ingredients, including flour, sugar, salt, butter, yeast, water, and oil. Gauri explained the importance of measuring each ingredient accurately to achieve the perfect outcome. The learners also learned about the significance of timing in the bread-baking process.

For a hands-on experience, each learner had the opportunity to knead their own dough and shape it into a bread design of their choice. This interactive activity provided a deeper understanding of the transformation process and emphasized the importance of following a systematic approach to achieve the desired result.

This field trip highlighted the principle of ‘Experiential Learning’ and aligned with our mission to ‘Inspire learning through joyful experiences.’ It was a valuable and engaging way for the learners to connect theoretical knowledge with practical application, fostering curiosity and creativity.
