At Mahindra International School, sustainability is not just an idea — it is an active commitment woven into our Strategic Plan. This Earth Day, we proudly launched Meatless Mondays, an initiative designed to inspire our community to reduce their environmental impact by going meatless just one day a week. Small steps, when taken together, can lead to a big change — and that’s the spirit we aim to cultivate.

The Secondary School Assembly marked the official launch of this initiative. During the assembly, students engaged in a thought-provoking session about sustainable living practices and how their everyday choices matter. The discussions connected closely with the concept of evidence-based hope, a powerful idea championed by Dr. Elin Kelsey. Evidence-based hope reminds us that positive change is already happening worldwide — and by acting together, we can accelerate this momentum. It moves us away from despair and toward empowerment, showing that our individual and collective actions truly do make a difference.

A special thanks goes to Mr. Pratik for facilitating an engaging and informative presentation and for his support in creating the new Meatless Mondays website. The website serves as a one-stop resource for learning more about sustainable practices, understanding the impact of meat consumption on the environment, and pledging personal commitment to this cause.

We invite all members of the MIS community — students, staff, and families — to explore the website and take the pledge: https://gvcwpcvk.manus.space/

At MIS, we believe that hope is not passive; it is active, powerful, and rooted in real action. By embedding sustainability into our daily lives, we are living our mission to Inspire Learning, Foster Responsibility, and Celebrate Diversity.

Through Meatless Mondays, we are taking one more step towards building a future where responsible choices today lead to a healthier planet tomorrow.

Together, we are raising the bar for what a sustainable community looks like — at MIS and beyond.
